Through December 31, 2019, preliminary statistics* indicate that seven hundred twenty three (723) people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2019. There are three (3) more than that was reported for the same time period in 2018.
Through December 31, 2019, there have been one hundred fifty six (156) persons killed in the Post 4 District: forth-five (45) victims were not wearing a seatbelt , fourty-seven (47) victims were wearing a seatbelt , fourteen (14) victims seatbelt were unknown and two (2) victims child restraints were used, eight (8) victims were not wearing a helmet (motorcycle) , four (4) victims were wearing a helmet (motorcycle) , zero (0) victim helmet was unknown (motorcycle) , zero (0) victims were not wearing a helmet (ATV), two (2) were bicyclists and thirty four (34) victims were pedestrians. Twenty-five (25) fatality crashes involved the suspected use of alcohol.
